A youth-led outdoor adventure program rooted in Scouting America's tradition of character, leadership, and service.
Troop 10 exists to help young people ages 11–17 grow into capable, confident, and caring adults — through the outdoors. We believe the wilderness is one of the best classrooms there is: it demands real problem-solving, genuine teamwork, and honest effort. It also rewards you with experiences and friendships that last a lifetime.
Whether you're an experienced backpacker or have never spent a night in the wilderness, you're welcome here. We'll teach you everything you need to know — from navigation and backcountry cooking to Leave No Trace principles and multi-day trip planning. Then we'll go do it together.
Scouts plan and lead their own trips. Adults are mentors, not managers.
All experience levels, backgrounds, and abilities are welcome. We grow together.
We take our responsibility to wild places seriously, and teach it from day one.
From first aid to navigation to wilderness cooking — practical skills for life.
Troop 10 is based in Redwood City, California, and chartered through Scouting America. We are sponsored by American Legion Post 105, a longstanding civic institution in Redwood City that shares our commitment to community and service.
Our troop is led by youth officers — a Senior Patrol Leader and Patrol Leaders — supported by trained adult volunteers. Scouts earn ranks and merit badges through the official Scouting America program, with a strong emphasis on outdoor achievement and leadership development.
We meet regularly throughout the year, running monthly campouts, skills sessions, and multi-day backpacking trips to destinations across California and beyond.
